Allied Insurance Corporate Headquarters in Des Moines, Iowa, is the first building constructed on the new Western Gateway redevelopment area. The initial phase of the headquarters building comprises a 525,000 square foot building, a parking structure for 2,500 Allied employees, and landscaped streets, plazas and open space.
Since the landscape is viewed from above as well as experienced from the street, the $1.5 million open space improvement both creates an inviting streetscape and incorporates large sculptural landscape elements. Shaded groves and open lawn panels are situated around the dining terrace for employees’ enjoyment.
