Sustainability drives the way we think about design and responsibility in stewardship of the environment. At its heart is the age old belief that we should ensure a future for coming generations that is as good, or better, than today. All MSI Design projects are evaluated against Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) criteria during the design process. Even when formal LEED accreditation is not pursued by the project owner, most MSI Design projects are designed to meet a USGBC rating (certified, silver, gold, or platinum) through the use of various tools. With over 20% of MSI’s professional staff LEED Accredited Professionals (LEED AP), it is clear that MSI Design embraces sustainable design as a fundamental principle of our work, from redevelopment/reuse of the urban core, to green roofs on university campuses, to innovative stormwater management and environmental recreation and education centers.
