The Downtown Columbus Circulation Study proposes a new approach to the roadway system, with a focus on converting many streets from one-way to two-way operation and on creating signature streets as nodes for downtown redevelopment. To accomplish this, road typologies have been assigned to all downtown streets which include design standards, on-street parking configurations, and streetscape standards. The plan also contemplates near-term integration of light rail and/or streetcars as an alternate mode of transportation.
