Homestead Park, on 44 acres in Washington Township, Ohio, has become a regional family destination. Driven by successful implementation and increased park patronage, the park developed in five phases following the Master Plan created in 1990 by MSI. Elements of the initial park development included a two-pool lake, covered bridge, stone picnic pavilions, parks office and education building, amphitheater, leisure trail, traditional children’s play areas, an extensive roller/ice skate course, basketball courts and a themed water play fort. Successive projects for the park include a farm-themed toddler water play area, rails-to-trails path conversion with a train station, park maintenance building and restrooms, accessible playground expansion and a butterfly garden.
