Ithaca College is undertaking a significant campus project to upgrade the quality of student life and athletic programs with construction the Ithaca College Athletic & Events Center. As a primary goal, great care has been taken to integrate the new facility with the rest of campus. Due to its large size, the building will impact the campus significantly, extending student activity in the area and creating a new identity for the school. Early design challenges have been the significant topography of the site and the desire of the college and the planning team to preserve the greatest number of trees as possible. An extensive investigation of grading issues was required at the conceptual site planning stale.
